Officer remains on the job after texting behind the wheel

READING, Mass. — A Reading officer remains on the job after texting while driving a police cruiser.

After a photo of what appeared to be an officer texting behind the wheel was sent to FOX25 in May, FOX25's Malini Basu spoke to the police chief about what action they were considering.

Reading Police Chief Mark Segalla said the picture was being investigated.

Segalla told FOX25 Thursday that it's been concluded that the officer was texting. The chief said the officer was disciplined but would not go into details.

The officer still works for the Reading Police Department.
