Man dies after being shot by police officer after NH car chase

PETERBOROUGH, N.H. — Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Peterborough, New Hampshire, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

The shooting took place on Greenfield Road around 10:23 a.m. Tuesday, but police had been on the lookout for the man for several hours across a large area.

“I can’t give you a number, but I can say we’re getting information from a lot of different sources, Jeff Strelzin from the NH Attorney General’s office said.

The AG tells FOX25 the incident started with a police chase and ended with a the male suspect being fatally wounded after a confrontation.

“Based on what’s out at the scene, its more fair to say that he probably crashed...I’ll have to see exactly what happened, but I don’t think at this point it was a voluntary stop. But we will have to look into that further,” Strelzin said.

SkyFox video of the scene shows a gun near the man's body, but it's unclear if he shot at police or if that was even his gun.

The suspect has not been identified by the AG.
