NH man arrested on drug charges after allegedly fleeing scene of car crash

MANCHESTER, NH — A New Hampshire man was arrested Friday when police found drugs in his car after it crashed into a stationary vehicle, Manchester police said.

Jason Deluca, 29, of Manchester was tracked down after a witness sawthe hit-and-run and flagged down an officer. Police said Lyle Cox, 23, of Manchester, told officers that he saw Deluca's 2008 Honda Accord hit a legally parked 2003 Jeep Liberty.

Police identified Deluca and arrested him. In a subsequent search of Deluca's vehicle, police said they found 7.76 grams of heroin, 47 Clonazapam pills, and four Buprenorphine pills. Clonazapam is used to treat seizures and panic disorders and Buprenorphine is an opiod drug.

Deluca was charged with three counts of sale/manufacture of a controlled drug, as well as operating after suspension (2nd offense) and conduct after an accident.

He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court in Manchester on Monday.
