N.H. fugitive wanted for sexual assault on minor arrested in Mass.

CONCORD, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – "Fugitive of the Week" Tyler Root, was arrested early Thursday morning in Brockton, Mass.

Root, 25, whose last known addresses were in Franklin, Mass., and Center Barnstead, was being sought on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Belknap County Superior Court for failure to appear on a charge of sexual assault on a minor.

The Belknap County Sheriff's Office, as a full time participant in the U.S. Marshals - N.H. Joint Fugitive Task Force requested the assistance of the task force to help in the location and arrest of Root.
Root was aired Thursday as this week's "Fugitive of the Week." Officials received several tips and leads which pointed to the Vine Street area of Brockton. Police were able to find Root in an apartment there and place him under arrest without incident.

After his arrest, Root was taken to the Brockton Police Department for processing as a fugitive from justice on the outstanding New Hampshire arrest warrant. Root will have his initial court appearance in Brockton District Court sometime later Thursday. He will be detained following his appearance at the Plymouth County Jail pending his return to N.H. to face the allegations.
