HUDSON, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A New Hampshire bride and groom were ready and waiting to get married over the weekend, except they were missing one person in their wedding party.
Craig Cook, a groomsman in his friends' wedding, was rear-ended Saturday afternoon as he and his date drove to the ceremony. It was going to take at least 30 minutes, if not longer, for a tow truck to arrive, since his car was lodged on top of the car that hit him, which would have made him late for the wedding.
But after noticing Cook and his date were all dressed up, the first responders to the crash went above and beyond, asking where the couple was heading. After checking everyone involved for injures, members of the Hudson Fire department then gave Cook and his date a ride so they could make it to the ceremony.
"We serve the people in any way that we can, even if it's just driving someone half a mile so they can get to a wedding on time," Capt. Kevin Grebinar told the Union Leader.
Everyone in the wedding party offered thanks and appreciation to the fire department for their help.
"If it wasn't for the fire department's help, the wedding wouldn't have gone as smoothly as it had," one of the bridesmaids told the Union Leader.
