New Hampshire SPCA rescues 32 cats, 1 bird from hoarding house

STRATHAM, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) - Animal safety officials in New Hampshire say they have removed 32 cats and one bird from a hoarding home in Hooksett.

According to a release from the SPCA, the animals were living in filth and most were not vaccinated.

The cats are suffering from a range of visible concerns including flea infestation, lack of socialization and upper respiratory infection.  We also suspect that some of the females are pregnant," a release said.

SPCA officials said the owner of the cats was given a chance to fix the problems by getting them the necessary shots and veterinary checkups, but she did not complete that in time.

The cats were handed over to the SPCA and will be put up for adoption once they are healthy and current with their vaccinations.
