New Balance honors Big Papi's 'walk-off' with special edition shoes

BOSTON, Mass. — New Balance is commemorating the end of an era with new limited edition Big Papi shoes.

The Boston based footwear company has created limited edition shoes for David Ortiz to wear in his final season with the Red Sox.

Ortiz will end his 19-year-career in style wearing four cleats inspired by the states the final four series will take place in for the 2016 season. The final walk off shoes will be inspired by the man himself, number 34.

The cleats Ortiz will wear during the games will correspond with special edition fashion shoes available for purchase during the series.

This image gallery shows the limited edition shoes, which will be available on NewBalance.com and at the New Balance store in Boston (583 Boylston Street, Boston) but the "Final Walk" shoes will be sold exclusively at the Boston store.

New Balance will also release a limited edition “Walk off 34” T-shirt available online and in stores.
