BOSTON — There will be crowds of nude and scantily clad bicyclists riding around Boston July 22.
Boston's World Naked Bike Ride welcomes any and all to their pre-party at 6 p.m. in Jamaica Plain, followed with a 10-mile bike ride at 8 p.m. The ride will end in Cambridge.
World Naked Bike Ride is an event that takes place in cities across the world every summer. Embracing the motto "bare as you dare," full or partial nudity is encouraged, though not required.
The first World Naked Bike Ride was in 2004, initially protesting oil depending and celebrating the human body. It has since shifted more toward bicycling advocacy.
One of the goals of Boston's World Naked Bike Ride is to desexualize nudity and promoting body positivity.
ATTENTION: It doesn't look it atm, but this is a PSA that, eventually, it will be warm enough to ride naked. Persevere, it will come. pic.twitter.com/LEnCCsYUgT

"This is not an ogle-fest," organizers wrote on the website.
Boston organizers said that the vibe of the ride will be fun, and they want people to safe, wearing helmets and using the buddy system.
Unwanted touching, groping, or fondling- of yourself or others, will get you kicked off the ride and reported to the police.

As far as the legality, being nude in public is illegal. Historically for naked bike ride events, police departments around the country have ensured the safety of the riders and have not intervened, though organizers note they cannot assume legal responsibility.
The Boston event is looking for volunteers.
