BOSTON -- A new medical marijuana dispensary could soon be opening in Boston's South End.
Jeff Reilinger is the CEO of Compassionate Organics - a company that's looking to open a dispensary on Newbury Street.
He said he's interested in opening one in the South End, too.
"I was diagnosed with MS when I was in graduate school. I started using marijuana to sleep," Reilinger said. "That was 20 years ago. My MS has been silent, and I've been sleeping great as well."

Many people have addressed concerns with the proposed location, arguing that it's just a few blocks from the intersection of Mass Ave and Melnea Cass Boulevard - a spot that many consider to be the epicenter of the opioid crisis in Massachusetts.
Reilinger says medical marijuana dispensaries shouldn't be put in the same category as methodone clinics.
"A lot of evidence shows that for folks who are addicted this can be helpful getting off of their addiction" Reilinger said.
