Mayor Walsh submits proposal to keep bars and restaurants open longer

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Boston's mayor is taking another shot at keeping bars and restaurants open past 2 a.m.  A proposal to extend closing time until 4 a.m. in certain neighborhoods was defeated last year by state legislators.

The Boston Herald says Mayor Marty Walsh plans to submit a new version of the bill on Beacon Hill. It's just one of 56 proposals the mayor hopes to get passed by the legislature over the next two years. Another would allow the city to issue fines to bars that violate state liquor laws.
