(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Hometown hero Mark Wahlberg is adding his name to a new movie about the Boston Marathon bombings, and he may play a lead role in the project.
Wahlberg is a producer of the upcoming film called "Patriot's Day." The script focuses on the response to the terror attack and the manhunt for the Tsarnaev brothers.
Wahlberg will reportedly play the role of former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis, the main character in the script. Cambridge resident Krishana House said, "I'd be curious to see it but I know there's a lot of sensitivity with all the families involved.â
Especially for the families who lost loved ones during those trying days.
For his part, Davis told FOX25, "There had been several offers like this for movies and books. I turned them down."
But after speaking with producers, Davis changed his mind.
"I thought it would be better to have some input, to make sure that the depiction was done properly," he said.
