LAS VEGAS — A man who was in Las Vegas for a conference posted a picture on Reddit that he hopes will inspire more people to be kind to the homeless.
Reddit user Stenotrophomonas said most of his friends had already left after the conference when he won a free buffet for two at the Excalibur casino.
Rather than eat alone, he invited along a homeless man, identified only as Todd.
Todd has been homeless in Las Vegas for more than 30 years. The Reddit user said Todd had a lot of stories to tell.
Todd said he was hit by a car and left in coma three years ago. He said he was having a hard time getting disability checks because he has no state ID, nor an address.
The two unlikely friends ate their fill together, with Todd enjoying roast beef, fried shrimp and his favorite: mashed potatoes and butter.
