Man sought in fatal Westport hit-and-run also wanted on heroin charge

WESTPORT, Mass. — The man sought in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash in Westport has been identified and is wanted on more charges, according to police.

Gerardo Lugo, 54, was driving the gray BMW they said crashed into and killed 30-year-old Stephanie Tripp, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's office.

Police say Lugo left the scene of the crash, but they found his BMW last week and raided his apartment. Investigators say they found more than 100 grams of heroin.

Lugo is wanted on heroin trafficking charges, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, negligent operation or a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
