Man dies after serious crash involving tractor trailer in Grafton

BOSTON — A serious crash shut down part of the Mass. Pike westbound Tuesday afternoon when a car wedged itself under the back of a tractor trailer.

The crash happened at around 2:20 p.m. along Route 90 westbound at the 98.5 mile marker in Grafton.

As SKY25 was over the scene, emergency responders deployed a privacy screen around the impact site in the right travel lane.

Preliminary investigation showed a 2015 Ford Fusion was traveling along the Mass pike when it went into the breakdown lane and struck the rear end of a disabled tractor trailer which had been parked on the breakdown lane. It is still unclear why the car veered off onto the breakdown lane.

The driver of the Ford Fusion, identified as 32-year-old Plymouth native Joshua Glynn, suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The man driving the tractor trailer, a 45-year-old man from Miami, Florida, suffered no injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending identification and family notification.
