“I can tell you right now folks, another shooting in broad daylight, we are not happy," Commissioner Gross said. "And this is not indicative of this neighborhood.”

Commissioner Gross added that there, “are too many guns on the streets,” but that Boston Police has actively been working with Boston communities to help take these guns off the streets.

“That’s the seventh homicide of this year. It’s just tragic. It’s a senseless daytime shooting," said Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins. "This is a vibrant community and it’s one to two percent of individuals engaged in this behavior.”

DA Rollins added that anyone who comes forward with information on the shooting will be protected.

“We will do everything we can to keep you safe and to try to get accountability for the family that we have to notify that their loved one is gone," she said.
