Suspect in Everett murder charged in beating death of Lynn woman

LYNN, Mass. — A 47-year-old man suspected in an Everett murder has been charged in the death of a Lynn woman in December.

Kathleen Burgess, 56, was found decomposing in her apartment on Dec. 29, 2016.

Police say David Grossack is responsible for the blunt-force trauma that killed Burgess. But he's also suspected in the murder of an Everett man who was found dead in his apartment in February.

The office of the chief medical examiner said Burgess’s body had multiple facial fractures and police noted signs of struggle at her apartment.

Burgess’s daughter had gone to check on her when she wasn’t heard from for several days.

According to investigators, Burgess and Grossack were dating, though police have not said what may have led to the murder.

Grossack has been charged with murder and will be arraigned in Lynn District Court.
