A U.S. Navy Sailor from Maine was killed during an operation in Africa Friday.
The Department of Defense said 38-year-old Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator Kyle Milliken was about 40 miles west of Mogadishu working with a Somali National Army-led operation against al-Shabaab.
He was assigned to an East Coast based special warfare unit.
Milliken was from Falmouth, Maine.
