NAHANT, Mass. — Nahant Police arrested a woman for carjacking and running over a man with his car in Nahant on Saturday.
At around 9:45 a.m., police received multiple reports of a possible carjacking on Wilson Road by Linda Lane in Nahant.
At the scene, officers found a man suffering from minor injuries who, along with a witness, was able to provide a description of the suspect and where they may have headed to.
The witness said she also helped police by blocking the causeway, the only way off the island.
With the help of the Swampscott Police and the Massachusetts State Police, the female suspect was found nearby on Little Nahant Road.
After a brief struggle with police, the 32-year-old Lynn woman was taken into custody.
Both the suspect and the victim were taken to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
The woman was charged with carjacking, larceny of a motor vehicle, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating to endanger, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and several other minor motor vehicle charges.
