Lynn man arrested on OUI charges after allegedly damaging 7 cars on his own street

LYNN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man was arrested on OUI charges after allegedly hitting several cars on his own street in Lynn.

Neighbors that live on the same street as the man woke up to their cars damaged Thursday morning. Police say that 37-year-old Stephen Gaudet was driving a box truck and plowed through several parked cars. At least seven vehicles were towed from the scene with damage., but no injuries were reported.

A neighbor who saw the whole thing happen said Gaudet was extremely intoxicated and refused to get out of his car. Police had to physically pull him out.

"Without a doubt, I don't even think he even knew what planet he was on," one resident said. "They were banging on the windows asking him to come out, he just started revving the engine finally one cop came around the passenger side actually had to smash out the window to be able to climb in, unbuckle him and take him out of there."

Gaudet was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and resisting arrest. He is out on bail and due back in court in December.
