PEPPERELL, Mass. — A Lowell officer was arraigned Wednesday after being arrested on an assault and battery charge.
Police responded Oct. 9 to the home of Vincent Fernandez, 42, of Pepperell, after a hang up 911 call. When officers arrived, a woman told officers Fernandez had hit her, and she had injuries around her eye, said police.
While officers were trying to detain Fernandez, he allegedly resisted arrest and made verbal threats to the officers. They used a Taser three times to subdue him.
Fernandez is charged with one count of Assault and Battery on a Family or Household Member and one count of Resisting Arrest.
Judge Elizabeth Cremens ordered the Defendant released on personal recognizance on the condition that he stay away from and have no contact with the named victim and their home, that he not consume alcohol, that he surrender all firearms, and that he not possess a firearm during the pendency of the case.
