(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police officers have given a Lowell man a warning about pop star Ariana Grande, after gifts he sent her raised the eyebrows of some on her staff.
The investigation began after her record label contacted Lowell police. Officers have asked the man to stop or he could face harassment charges. But he tells FOX 25 he has no intention of stopping.
On 29-year-old Timothy Normandin's Facebook page, there are plenty of poems and statements about pop star Ariana Grande. But the singer reportedly became concerned when she started receiving several gifts from Normandin.
The gifts included a 42.5-pound pumpkin, eight Yankee candles, dog and cat calendars.. A three-piece mirror set, a $200 anklet, and a rock from the White Mountains.
"I was trying to get her attention and thought that was the only way to do it," Normandin said in a phone interview.
Normandin said his intentions with the gifts are innocent.
"I never in any way had any intent in harming anyone."
He says he's more worried about her image and wants to be "her guardian."
"I want to sit down and discuss the future with her. She has a lot of influence; I think the way she influences that audience is rather terrible," Normandin said. "It's very womanizing."
He also says he loves her and does want something more than friendship. He wants to "serve and protect her wellness."
He said he would not stop even though police have intervened.
"It actually isn't harassment at all because it is not malicious one bit," he said.
In fact, he says after police warned him, he ordered her a clock which is supposed delivered to her.
"So you see the symbolism behind it, I knew by sending these gifts police will want to hunt me, down arrest me," Normandin said. "Universal records will press charges against me. It's all time. Time's running out, police are gonna make me do time."
Lowell police have not charged the man but say the investigation is ongoing.
