BOSTON — In just one week, Boston voters will head to the polls in the preliminary election for mayor in Boston. Early voting is already underway, and a new Boston Globe and Suffolk University poll shows a clear front runner.
A new poll in the Boston mayoral race gives City Councilor Michelle Wu a strong lead and suggests the number of undecided voters and a tight cluster of potential second-place candidates could translate to many possible outcomes for the Sept. 14 preliminary election.
Michelle Wu holds the lead with 31 percent, followed by Acting Mayor Kim Janey with 20 percent. Councilor Annissa Essaibi George currently holds third place with 19 percent while Councilor Andrea Campbell is showing an 18 percent rating, followed by Chief of Economic Development for the City of Boston John Barros with only 3 percent.
On Boston 25 News, we’ve reached out to all the candidates for live interviews leading up to next week’s preliminary election.
Tuesday morning we spoke live with City Councilor Michelle Wu about where she stands on some of the big issues facing the city and what she would do if she’s elected.
