Want to ‘feel like you’re in Ireland’ this St. Patrick’s Day? Visit this Massachusetts pub

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Are you planning to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Don’t just settle for any run-of-the-mill bar, especially when Massachusetts is home to a pub that’ll “make you feel like you’re in Ireland.”

With revelers expected to toss back a few smooth stouts and chow down on some shepherd’s pie Friday, Yelp published a list of the 25 best Irish pubs across the United States and Canada.

“With familiar fare, live music, and strong whiskeys – these local legends ooze authentic Irish spirit,” Yelp wrote.

The Druid Pub at 1357 Cambridge Street in Cambridge ranked third on the list, earning high praise for their brews and bites.

“The Guinness was super smooth and delicious,” one happy customer said in a review of the pub. “Definitely one of the best I’ve had from a tavern in the US.”

Another customer raved about the food, writing, “My boyfriend got the Shepherd’s Pie, which also came out piping hot and looked like a mound of mashed potatoes. He loved it. Oh, I forgot to mention the homemade brown bread, which is a staple in Ireland. Simple, but great touch that I was excited to see served.”

Tim Finnegan’s Irish Restaurant & Pub in Glendale, Arizona, took the top overall spot on the list.
