FRANKLIN, Mass. — A collision between a car and a train has closed a roadway in Franklin Thursday afternoon.

An MBTA commuter rail train hit the motor vehicle at the railway crossing on Grove Street, Franklin police alerted residents around 4:00 p.m.

Because an investigation has to be completed before the train can be moved, Grove Street will be closed “for the foreseeable future,” according to Franklin police.

Police did not state whether anybody had been hospitalized in the collision.

“Please use an alternate route! We will update when it is back open,” Franklin Police wrote on Facebook.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
