The 22-7 Boston Celtics, holders of the NBA’s best record, will have their chief rim protector patrolling the paint once again this Friday.

According to the Athletics’ Shams Charania, Celtics center Robert Williams is set to make his season debut this Friday against the Orlando Magic.

Williams was an instrumental piece in Boston’s turnaround that saw them vault from 11th place in the conference in January to the NBA Finals in June. In his first full season as a starter Williams averaged 10 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks while earning NBA All-Defensive honors.

On March 30, Williams underwent a partial left knee meniscectomy after tearing the meniscus in his left knee. Williams was able to return to the court halfway through the Celtics’ first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets but was frequently pulled from the lineup as he battled knee swelling and pain.

Williams underwent an arthroscopic knee procedure this Fall on the same knee after he started to experience pain during his preseason ramp-up. It has kept him off the court ever since.

The Celtics and Magic will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
