Three sailors safe after boat runs aground in Bourne

BOURNE, Mass. — Three sailors are safe after emergency crews responded to calls on a boat in distress off the shore in Bourne, officials said in a Facebook post.

The sailboat wound up on Sagamore Beach Sunday morning after the boat lost steering in high waves and strong winds, according to fire officials.

Three people on board jumped out and made it to shore safely. Officials said they were the only occupants on the ship.
