ORIGINAL STORY (posted March 24):
Saugus Police are searching for the attacker who stabbed a 16-year-old boy multiple times.
It happened shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, on Raddin Terrace.
Minutes later, authorities received a 911 call from a business in Saugus Center about a mile from the scene.
Witnesses said the boy’s two friends frantically drove him to that location in a white Toyota Corolla.
The wounded teenager was quickly surrounded by a small crowd of witnesses after being pulled out of the vehicle.
“The boy said to me, call 911. Call 911! My friend got stabbed,” said an employee at Salon D’Bella.
A customer at Salon D’Bella rushed outside and applied pressure to the victim’s wounds before paramedics arrived.
Other witnesses tried to get answers from the two friends who drove the teen to Central Street following the stabbing.
“One of them said some guy told us to pull over. We pulled over and my friend unrolled the window, and he just came in and stabbed him,” said one woman.
A neighbor on Raddin Terrace played surveillance video of the stabbing for Boston 25 News to see.
The video, which we don’t have permission to air, shows a hooded suspect reaching into the passenger window of the Corolla.
The teen victim, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was stabbed in the chest area several times.
The attacker is then seen fleeing down a hill with the knife still in his hand.
Police scoured the neighborhood where it happened for hours and used a K9 unit to search for evidence.
Investigators are not speculating on a motive, but they said the attack does not appear to be random.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities have not provided an update on his condition.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
