MEDWAY, Mass — The students and faculty of Medway High School were evacuated Wednesday afternoon after threats were made against the school, according to Medway police.

Police say Medway high school received two phone calls from a person threatening student safety. The threats have since been deemed not credible.

Police say the school was immediately put into lockdown and students and staff were contained in classrooms while police investigated.

Dismissal was delayed as Medway police officers searched the building and premises.

Students and staff were let back into the school around 3:00 p.m. after first responders deemed the building safe to reenter.

All afternoon and evening activities at the high school have been canceled.

Officials say school will be held as scheduled on Thursday under an increased police presence.

The incident is under investigation by Medway police.
