SUDBURY, Mass. — A juvenile student is facing charges for allegedly being involved in a firework incident that happened last Friday, October 1. After various sources came forward to Sudbury Police, a student was identified for setting off fireworks near players, students, and staff at the Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School football game against Fitchburg High School.

In a video provided to Boston 25 News from Sudbury TV shows, announcers can be heard referencing the pandemonium as a series of loud and powerful fireworks were set off by someone towards the end of the game.
The Sudbury Police Department told Boston 25 News officers sorted through numerous statements to identify the student involved. As a result of information and evidence gathered, Sudbury detectives and officers executed a search warrant at a Sudbury residence on Thursday, October 7. At the residence, police were able to recover evidence related to the investigation.
Sudbury Police added that they are seeking charges against a juvenile student who they believe was the sole perpetrator of the incident. These charges include assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, and wanton destruction of property.
Due to juvenile information being protected under Massachusetts public records laws, the identity of the student can’t be released.
