‘Something is brewing at TD Garden’: North End bars see business uptick during championship chases

BOSTON — “I just got the word that something is brewing at The Garden,” says a Bruins Fan.

For sports bars around TD Garden, that something is hard cold cash. As long as the Celtics and Bruins keep winning, the register keeps cha-chinging.

“It is huge for us, especially in the summer we love having both teams in the playoffs,” says Dan Crowley, The Greatest Bar General Manager.

“It is great. When they play and they are playing well the fans love to come out to support the team,” says Derick Mains, Sullivan’s Tap Manager.

When games stop at TD Garden, sports bars say they don’t see as many customers.

“It does get a little slow in this area so as the Celtics and Bruins can keep going keep progressing into the next rounds it is huge for us and this whole area,” says Crowley.

The Bruins fought Sunday night to get the team one step closer to a championship.

“We came with the cup to bring the vibes,” says a Bruin fan.

Now the bars will rely on the Celtics to bring customers through the doors.

“The fan base for Boston sports is just crazy especially when they win,” says Mains.

The Celtics play the Philadelphia 76ers Monday night at TD Garden.
