Mass. — Getting ready for a first date is exciting, but it also can be a nerve-racking and scary process, but what if you were paid to do it.
Jewelry company Shane Co. is offering to give out $1,500 to a single looking to find their perfect match.
“We know it takes a lot of courage to put your heart on the line and take a chance on someone new,” Shane Co. said in a news release. “On the other hand, it could be the beginning of many beautiful moments to come.”
The company is looking for a candidate who is single (they ask that no one cheats) and able to find their own dates on dating apps, at the store, or anywhere else.
The candidate will be required to go on 15 dates. They don’t all have to be strangers, but they must be with 15 different people.
For safety purposes, Shane Co. suggests first dates be held in a public place with the buddy system and backup plans to prepare for any situation that may happen.
These are the requirements for the competition:
- Applicants must be single.
- Winner must be willing and able to secure 15 dates with 15 different partners over the course of five months.
- Your dates do not have to be strangers, but they must be 15 different people.
- The winner will be required to take a photo to document each of the 15 dates and fill out a brief worksheet outlining their experience.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to apply.
Disregarding any of these requirements is grounds for immediate disqualification.
To be considered, applicants must apply by February 10. The winner will be announced on February 27 and have five months to complete the dates.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
