Severe weather swamps parts of Mass. and NH with floods

Heavy rains pounded New England Sunday, leaving drivers and residents to navigate flooded and damaged roadways.

Brockton suffered severe flooding, forcing drivers to push aside gallons of water to get down Westgate Drive near the Westgate Mall.

Albion Street in Wakefield was also partially underwater, forcing residents to take to the high seas to make it past their front yard.

Sturbridge Police told drivers to avoid Cooper Road, sharing that a large portion of the road had been lost to the flood waters.

Many areas of Massachusetts and New Hampshire were put under a flood warning as the storms moved northeast through the region.

Attleboro and Auburn, NH saw the most rain in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, totaling over 4 inches of the wet stuff as of 10 p.m.

Randolph, Fitchburg and Sutton each reported over three inches as well.

Logan Airport, where flyers saw headache-inducing delays, reported 1.50 inches of rainfall.

Severe weather postponed the NASCAR Crayon 301 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. The race will now be on Monday.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
