HOPKINTON, Mass. — A second person has died following a house fire in Hopkinton that killed a man and a dog early Sunday morning, state and local fire officials and the district attorney said Tuesday.

A woman in her 60s who was injured in the two-alarm fire has died, Hopkinton Fire Chief William Miller, State Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey, and Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said in a statement.

Several neighbors called 911 just after 1 a.m. Sunday to report the fire at the Hayward Street home.

When firefighters arrived, they went into the burning, single-story home and found a man in the hallway and a woman in a bedroom.

The woman was sent to Milford Regional Medical Center and then to a Boston hospital following the fire, and later died.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time but is not considered suspicious, officials said.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
