Report: Man robbed Providence strip club of $22K in $1 bills

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A strip club owner in Providence says his workers were robbed at gunpoint Monday afternoon.

Cadillac Lounge owner Dick Shappy told WPRI a man pointed a gun at his employees and ordered the manager to open the safe. He made off with $22,000 – entirely in $1 bills.

Shappy says the robber knew his way around the club, including the location of the safe.

Police confirmed to WPRI they are investigating an armed robbery at the business.
