According to sports business website Sportico, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will finish 2022 as the highest-paid head coach in the country.
The six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach reportedly made $20 million this year, $5 million more than the next head coach, Seattle’s Pete Carroll.
The longtime Patriots head coach passed George Halas for second on the NFL’s all-time wins list earlier this year. He currently trails Don Shula’s all-time total of 347 by 20.
As the only head coach that is not a member of the NFL Coaches Association, Belichick does not have to publicly disclose his salary.
Six NFL coaches rank amongst the highest earners in sports. Three college football coaches also finished in the top 10. San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is the only NBA coach represented in Sportico’s Top 10.
