LOWELL, Mass. — The remains of a 41-year-old Lowell woman who went missing earlier this month have been found in New Hampshire, New Hampshire State Police confirmed on Friday.

Sinead Lyons of Lowell was last seen on or around March 12 walking her dog on Ossipee Lake.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game dive team used an airboat and dive boat to search the area where she had last been seen, according to their news release. They found the body using a side-scan sonar and divers recovered it in 12 and a half feet of water at 2:20 p.m.

The body is awaiting a positive identification by the medical examiner’s office.

The New Hampshire State Police thanked the public for providing information leading to her discovery and to partners in public safety who assisted in several coordinated searches.
