Police locate missing person in 209-acre state park

MATTAPOISETT, Mass. — Police in Mattapoisett found a missing person today following a large-scale search in and around Nasketucket Bay State Reservation.

The search began when police received reports of an individual believed to be missing in the park.

Given the reservation’s large size and dense woods, police immediately requested additional resources such as K-9 units, drones and utility terrain vehicles (UTVs).

Despite these challenges, the person was located and safely transported to the hospital by EMS paramedics.
