Everett police warn residents to ‘avoid the area’ amid ongoing incident on Ferry Street

Everett man accused of kidnapping, raping saleswoman who knocked at door

EVERETT, Mass. — The Everett Police Department is warning residents to avoid the area of Ferry Street amid ongoing police activity.

Police say that they are on scene due to a barricaded subject.

“We believe that the individual may be armed, dangerous and made threats to harm another person prior to police arrival,” Everett police wrote on their Facebook page.

Members of the Everett police, SWAT, and crisis negotiators are on the scene.
