FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Police are investigating reports of an armed robbery at a Starbucks on the Massachusetts Turnpike Thursday morning after a suspect reportedly showed a firearm and got access to a safe, police said.
Police responded to the Starbucks, on the westbound side of I-90 in Framingham, around 6:20 a.m., State police spokesman Dave Procopio said in a statement. Police cruisers could be seen blocking the drive-thru of the store, along with several cruisers in the surrounding lot.

The suspect forced his way into the building, showed a firearm and got access to a safe, Procopio said, before fleeing. It’s unclear if the person fled on foot or in a vehicle, and what, if anything, was taken.
Detectives were seen photographing cash scattered near the drive-through and later collecting bills that were scattered on the grass.
Several State police patrols, including K9 units, are assisting in the investigation. No arrests have been made and police are still searching for the suspect.
