TAUNTON, Mass. — Police say a bomb threat against a high school in Taunton has been deemed not credible.

Taunton Police were called to Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School just before 11 a.m. Tuesday morning for a reported bomb threat. Police say a student found a threatening note that made mention of a bomb on the wall of a bathroom and reported it to school officials.

Taunton Police, Fire and the Massachusetts State Police bomb-sniffing K-9 responded to the school. After a search of the interior and exterior, no devices were found and the threat was determined to be not credible.

Just after 12:30 p.m., police cleared the building and the school day resumed normal operations.

“School staff and students did a great job of evacuating the building prior to our arrival. We take all threats seriously and thankfully this one was quickly determined to not be credible. I want to thank the State Police for their assistance in the investigation," said Taunton Police Chief Edward Walsh.

No one was injured.

“We are thankful for the quick response of the Taunton Police and their thorough search of the school. I want to commend the student that saw the note and immediately notified school officials. Every situation like this needs to be taken seriously and the safety of our students and staff is our top priority," said Superintendent Alexandre Magalhaes.

The incident remains under investigation by Taunton Police and school officials.
