CANTON, Mass. — Police in Canton have located the body of a once-missing 19-year-old from Canton who had last been seen on July 15, according to local officials.

The update comes two days after police initially posted about the search for the teen and nearly two hours after the department announced that the missing individual had been found.

Canton Police said Ryan Lahiff was last seen around midday Wednesday and search teams had been looking for him in wooded areas in Canton, near walking paths that Lahiff frequented. He had lived in Canton for the past year and previously lived in Dedham.

Police said that Lahiff’s body will be examined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, but that it does not appear foul play was involved at this time.

The 19-year-old, who attended college at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, was 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighed about 180 lbs. He had last been seen wearing red sweatpants, a gray T-shirt, black sneakers and a black backpack.

Anyone who had seen Lahiff or had any information that could have helped police locate him was asked to call Canton police at 781-828-1212.
