Police investigating serious motor vehicle crash in Chatham

CHATAM, Mass. — Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Chatham.

According to the Chatham Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:50 AM on Main Street/Route 28 near Crosby Lane.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene by MedFlight. Police said the victim was reported to be in stable condition before being flown for further treatment.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

As police investigated, Main Street/Route 28 was closed between Woodpecker Valley Road and George Ryder Road for about an hour and a half.

No additional information about the pedestrian or the driver was immediately released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
