Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. — An unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed while walking on Main Street in Brockton on Thursday, Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said.

The fatal crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. at 1101 Main St.

When police arrived to the scene, they found a male who had been struck by a 1987 Mercedes 300, Cruz said.

The male victim was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

He was not identified Thursday pending notification of his next of kin.

The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene. He was also not being identified on Thursday.

An investigation is ongoing by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services and Brockton Police.
