The dog days of summer also mean it’s time for dogged training camp battles.

The New England Patriots are set to truly begin their ramp-up for the regular season, announcing their training camp dates beginning this week.

The Patriots’ initial training camp practice is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26 and practices open to the public will take on July 27 and 28. The team will be off on Saturday, July 29 before welcoming fans again on Sunday, July 30.

Weekday practices will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30. Sunday’s practice time has yet to be determined.

Gates open to the public one hour prior to practice.

The Patriots will begin their preseason schedule at home against the Houston Texans on August 10.

New England is also scheduled for joint practices with the Green Bay Packers on August 16 and 17 before their second preseason game in Green Bay. And the Patriots will also get an up-close look at what could’ve been when they host Mike Vrabel, and recent-signee DeAndre Hopkins for joint practice before the preseason finale on August 25.
