MIDDLEBORO, Mass. — A dive team is working to pull a car from the Taunton River near Summer Street in Middleboro, officials told Boston 25 News Saturday night.
Several first responders told Boston 25 that they need to get the vehicle out tonight to find out if any passengers are inside. The vehicle is apparently upside down, officials said, and Boston 25 News has learned that divers have been having trouble seeing if anyone is inside because of how murky the water is.
A kayaker found the vehicle Saturday afternoon and called it in, according to law enforcement.

There are several different town agencies currently on scene, including both police and fire from Middleboro and Bridgewater as the river runs right on the town line. Plymouth County Rescue is also responding.
At this point first responders say it is possible that the vehicle drifted away from a nearby bridge with the current, but that is still unclear.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
