NORTON, Mass. — A 28-year-old man is dead following a motor vehicle accident that happened Monday night in the Norton area of 34 North Worcester Street.
The Norton Police Department told Boston 25 News both police and fire crews responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash with injuries at approximately 9:20 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a bystander performing CPR on a man in the middle of the roadway. Fire and police personnel immediately rendered first aid, but the man has pronounced dead shortly after.
The man, later identified as Mark Sullivan, age 28, of Norton, was traveling down North Worcester Street on a scooter when another vehicle, a gray Honda Accord operated by Jon Laprise, age 18, of Norton, collided with the scooter in the area of 34 North Worcester Street.
The street was closed for four hours as crews continued to clear the scene and investigate the cause of the crash.
Authorities confirmed no charges have been filed at this time. The crash remains under investigation by Norton Police, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
