LITTLETON, N.H. — A candy store in New Hampshire has been named among the very best places in America to find delicious sweet treats.
USA Today recently published its “10 best candy stores across the US,” a list that’s nominated by a panel of experts and voted on by the news outlet’s readers.
Chutters, located in the Grafton County town of Littleton, was ranked the third-best candy shop in the country.
“Home to the Guinness World Records holder of the world’s longest candy counter, it’s not a stretch to call Chutters a candy lover’s paradise,” USA Today wrote.
Chutters, a fixture along Littleton’s Main Street since the late 1800s, is widely known for its 500 jars of assorted candies that sit atop a 112-foot-long counter.
The popular spot also offers up a wide variety of homemade chocolates, caramels, and fudge.
In November 2019, former Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg visited Chutters during a campaign stop.
Buttigieg ultimately went on to become the United States Secretary of Transportation.
Bright’s Candies in Walla Walla, Washington, was named the top candy shop in America. Windy City Sweets in Chicago checked in at second on the list, just edging out Chutters.
The top 10 list was as follows:
- Bright’s Candies in Walla Walla, Washington
- Windy City Sweets in Chicago, Illinois
- Chutters in Littleton, New Hampshire
- Wilton Candy Kitchen in Wilton, Iowa
- Samuel’s Sweet Shop in Rhinebeck, New York
- The Candy Bank in Mandeville, Louisiana
- The Sweet Palace in Philipsburg, Montana
- The Farris Wheel Candy Co. in Wichita, Kansas
- Shane Confectionery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
