WESTON, Mass. — A tractor trailer carrying thousands of pounds of paper rolled over on the Massachusetts Turnpike Wednesday afternoon, sending two people to the hospital and causing major traffic delays.
The Weston Fire Department says crews have been on scene since 3:30 p.m. on the eastbound side of the Pike near exit 123 to Route 95. A tractor trailer carrying 7,000 pound rolls of paper flipped on its side, blocking most of the left lane, according to authorities.
Highway officials say two people were treated and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Tow companies are working to upright the truck and also remove the rolls of paper.
Heavy traffic delays have been reported in the area.
Companies estimate they will be on scene for at least another hour.
One lane on the off ramp is getting by at this time, according to fire officials.
