Medical Examiner testing bones found in Cape Cod town

EASTHAM, Mass. — Investigators are working to determine the origin of bones found on Cape Cod.

Police said the bones were found in the Fort Hill area of Eastham, near the shoreline of the marsh, around 11:26 a.m. Tuesday.

It was not clear what type of bones were found, so the area was secured as a crime scene. The bones and surrounding area were documented by State Police and turned over to the Office of the Medical Examiner for further testing.

The area reopened around 4:08 p.m.
