BRAINTREE, Mass. — The man accused of shooting and killing his former neighbor as she answered the door to her Braintree home in June was arraigned on murder charges Thursday.
Robert Bonang is accused of shooting Laurie Melchionda eight times at her doorstep on June 17.
Bonang is alleged to have disguised himself as a deliveryman and shot Melchionda using a rifle he had hidden in a box meant to look like a package.
UPS said Bonang did not work for their company.

Police responded one minute after the shooting and found Bonang still outside the Braintree home. Boston 25 News learned he and the victim were neighbors years ago.
The DA says after he was arrested, police found a notebook in his car with writings blaming the Melchiondas for him losing his childhood home in Braintree. Officers also say they found an Idaho license, a handgun, and boxes of ammunition.
Melchionda was a married mother of three and a longtime school nurse in Braintree and Weston schools.
Her family appeared in court for Thursday’s hearing all wearing purple and purple ribbons in honor of Laurie.
A grand jury indicted Bonang on murder charges in August.
Thursday, a judge ordered him held without bail. He’s due back in court in October.
